    Description

Vintage Sportscar / Sports Racer (?)
    1970 Armstrong Shock Absorber (1)
Armstrong shock - single, needs restoration, spring collar frozen in place
Also shock damping screw frozen in place, shock moves OK, shaft OK except a few marks
Shaft diameter is .548", takes a 2.25" ID spring,
Compressed length is approx 10.75" (with 1.5" bump rubber in place)
    Extended length is approx 14.375"
ID - Armstrong AT9/SA822240  Date 3/70  (ID # very faint on the body)
Single used Armstrong adjustable racing shock absorber. Model numbers on it are AT9/SA and 822240 (they are very faint), and date code is 3/70.
I acquired this with a collection of miscellaneous formula car and Lotus Seven / Europa / sports racer parts, and have seen reference online to similarly aged Armstrong shocks being used on sports racers like GT40, Lola, Lotus 23B, and some single seat race cars.
    I
have no idea exactly what it fits.  Please identify them from the photos and measurements below.
If further measurements are required to confirm fitment, please request same before purchasing.
The shock is used, and I have no idea of its history. The shafts look alright with no bends (but it does have a few small marks) but the spring collar and shock damping adjustment screw are both frozen in place and
I assume it leaks, so will need to be rebuilt (shock does moves through its travel)
    .
    - Shaft diameter is 0.548 inch, and it takes a 2.25-inch ID spring
    - Length is approximately 14.375 inches fully extended, and 10.75 inches compressed (with a 1.5" bump stop in place; it would be 9.25 inches without the rubber stop).
    Payment methods accepted are Paypal.
Buyer to pay .50 for Canada Post shipping to the Continental USA (this includes the 11% premium that eBay is now charging sellers on shipping costs)
. All other locations pay actual shipping rate, plus the same eBay fee on the shipping. I ship internationally, but international rates on a piece this size are going to be very expensive (generally 3-4 times the USA rate for European destinations, and 5-6 times the USA rate for Australia/New Zealand).
Thanks for looking and good luck!
