    Description

In an era extending into the late 1940’s, furniture and moving & storage companies used massive vans for city-wide or cross-country transport of household goods.
The Gerstenslager Co. of Wooster Ohio was the predominant builder of many of the cavernous bodies for these trucks, their bold paint schemes serving a secondary function as rolling company billboards.
Other than a few pages of introduction and a long list of companies that utilized Gerstenslager-bodied trucks, this 8.5 x 11-inch, 16-page Gerstenslager brochure has limited verbiage.
It does, however, carry 67 numbered photos of trucks equipped with incomparable Gerstenslager bodies, suggestive of what was available to new or existing customers in working with the company on future orders.
Accumulating these photos individually would be very costly; acquiring them in this organized and concise brochure is a rare and cost-effective opportunity.
These bold trucks are now extinct, replaced by their generic, nondescript, modern successors.
This brochure will spark its buyer’s imagination as he reflects back on what it must have been like to own and operate these long, tall, wide behemoths in the days preceding our interstate highway system.
