Porsche 356 engine complete turn key no core!.
Rebuilt, restored, and ready to go in your car!
All hardware re zinc plated in silver, tin powder coated in semi gloss finish. New spark plugs, plug wires, air filters, oil filter, oil lines, bearings, seals, reconditioned rods from Rimco, new 86mm, 4 ring pistons and cylinders, and Zenith carburetors are rebuilt.
This engine was a 1600 from car 124592 which is a 62 B coupe. The owner had this engine removed to go to a turbo VW power plant. Low miles were evident when it was disassembled for the first time ever for this rebuild.
The one thing different visually is the oil filter housing which was originally silver (correct for that engine that year). I wanted the orange color simply of personal preference. I purchased it for a split beetle project that it never ended up in and is now long gone. It has only been on my engine stand since built and has been there for almost a couple years since it was finished. It has been run for its initial break in period and run on occasion since then. I’ve used a high zinc 20-50 oil and it runs smooth. It tends to smoke some on start up but will dissipate somewhat as it runs. I believe this is because it hasn’t had the opportunity to be driven and complete its break in period to allow the rings to seat in the pistons.
I wanted to keep it for a future project, but don’t know when that would be, so rather than let it sit longer I thought it would be better to pass on to someone who can use it.
I will include the muffler if wanted, but it is well used and has a couple cracks, one at a tailpipe mount and another on one end.
